Our surrogate children

We had been on our way to Mrs. T‘s for a little babysitting last Saturday when our car broke down. We finally got it back last night (and are now $485 lighter in the pocket – groan), and this evening we fulfilled our tardy play date. It’s so much fun to see these kids, whom we’ve known from birth, interact with each other and with us. Kids are amazing. My advice: have several. They get funnier the more you have. The highlight of the evening was Ellie sincerely discussing her longing to eat monkey skin.

Carver mastered various hand gestures – none of the inappropriate ones, though. Oh, well, practice makes perfect.

(Just kidding, Anna.)

This picture of Ellie has been heartily approved by its subject (“I’m smiling!”):

And Laura, although incessantly cheerful, is not always too sure of Himself:

That Guy is the preferred jungle gym of the bunch. Even the easily-distractableness of small children doesn’t always work. Mostly I just watch and laugh and occasionally make videos.
